Sarirasa Boemboe Soto: Authentic Indonesian Soup Base
Ingredients
• 500 grams chicken, beef, or tofu (cut into pieces)
• 1 pack Sarirasa Boemboe Soto
• 2 tablespoons rice oil
• 1.5 liters water
• Optional: 200 ml coconut milk
• Garnishes: bean sprouts, boiled eggs, fried onions, lime wedges, and fresh coriander
Instructions
1. Prepare the protein
• Cook the chicken or beef until lightly browned, or fry tofu until golden. Set aside.
2. Sauté the spice mix
Heat 2 tablespoons of rice oil in a large pot and sauté the Sarirasa Boemboe Soto until aromatic.
3. Add water
Gradually add 1.5 liters of water to the pot and stir to combine.
4. Cook the protein
Add the chicken, beef, or tofu to the pot and let it simmer on low heat until tender.
5. Optional Coconut Milk
For a creamy version, stir in 200 ml of coconut milk and simmer for an additional 5–10 minutes.
6. Serve
Ladle the soto into bowls and top with your choice of garnishes: bean sprouts, boiled eggs, fried onions, lime wedges, and fresh coriander.
Serving Tip
Serve Soto with steamed rice or vermicelli noodles on the side. Add sambal for extra heat and enjoy with Atjar or Kroepoek for a complete meal.
