Sarirasa Boemboe Sambal Goreng: Spicy and Savory Stir-Fried Dish
Ingredients
• 500 grams chicken, shrimp, tofu, or tempeh (cut into bite-sized pieces)
• 1 pack Sarirasa Boemboe Sambal Goreng
• 2 tablespoons rice oil
• 200 ml coconut milk (optional for a creamy variation)
• 250 ml water
Instructions
1. Prepare the protein
• If using chicken or shrimp, cook them lightly in a pan with a bit of oil.
• If using tofu or tempeh, fry until golden brown. Set aside.
2. Sauté the spice mix
Heat 2 tablespoons of rice oil in a pan and sauté the Sarirasa Boemboe Sambal Goreng until aromatic.
3. Combine ingredients
Add the chicken, shrimp, tofu, or tempeh to the pan and mix well to coat evenly with the spice mix.
4. Add liquids
• Pour in 250 ml of water for a traditional sambal goreng.
• For a creamier version, replace part of the water with 200 ml of coconut milk. Stir well to combine.
5. Simmer
Let the dish simmer until the sauce thickens and the flavors are fully absorbed.
Serving Tip
Serve Sambal Goreng with steamed rice and pair it with other Indonesian dishes like Rendang, Sajoer Lodeh, or Nasi Goreng. Add a side of krupuk and sambal for a complete meal.
