Sarirasa Boemboe Roedjak: Sweet and Spicy Indonesian Sauce
Ingredients
• 500 grams chicken, tofu, or tempeh (cut into pieces)
• 1 pack Sarirasa Boemboe Roedjak
• 2 tablespoons rice oil
• 200 ml coconut milk
• 250 ml water
Instructions
1. Cook the protein
• If using chicken, cook until golden brown.
• For tofu or tempeh, fry until crispy and set aside.
2. Sauté the spice mix
Heat 2 tablespoons of rice oil in a pan and sauté the Sarirasa Boemboe Roedjak until fragrant.
3. Combine ingredients
Add the cooked chicken, tofu, or tempeh to the pan and mix well to coat with the spice mix.
4. Add liquids
Pour in 250 ml of water and 200 ml of coconut milk. Stir well to create a rich, creamy sauce.
5. Simmer
Let the dish simmer on low heat until the sauce thickens and the flavors are fully absorbed by the ingredients.

Serve Roedjak with steamed rice and pair it with side dishes like sambal goreng, atjar, or krupuk for a complete Indonesian meal.
