Sarirasa Boemboe Kerrie: Aromatic Indonesian Curry Spice Mix
Ingredients
• 500 grams chicken, beef, fish, tofu, or tempeh (cut into pieces)
• 1 pack Sarirasa Boemboe Kerrie
• 2 tablespoons rice oil
• 250 ml water
• 200 ml coconut milk
Instructions
1. Prepare the protein
• Cook the chicken, beef, or fish until lightly browned.
• For tofu or tempeh, fry until golden and crispy. Set aside.
2. Sauté the spice mix
Heat 2 tablespoons of rice oil in a pan and sauté the Sarirasa Boemboe Kerrie until fragrant.
3. Combine ingredients
Add the cooked protein to the pan and stir well to coat evenly with the spice mix.
4. Add liquids
Gradually add 250 ml of water and 200 ml of coconut milk. Stir well to blend the flavors.
5. Simmer
Reduce the heat and let the dish simmer until the protein is tender and the sauce has thickened to your desired consistency.
Serving Tip
Serve Kerrie with steamed rice or noodles. Pair it with side dishes like Sambal Goreng, Atjar, or Kroepoek to complete your Indonesian meal.
