Sarirasa Boemboe Babi Ketjap: Sweet Soy Pork Dish
Ingredients
• 500 grams pork (cut into bite-sized pieces)
• 1 pack Sarirasa Boemboe Babi Ketjap
• 2 tablespoons rice oil
• 3 tablespoons sweet soy sauce (Kecap Manis)
• 250 ml water
Instructions
1. Prepare the pork
Heat 2 tablespoons of rice oil in a pan and fry the pork pieces until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
2. Sauté the spice mix
In the same pan, sauté the Sarirasa Boemboe Babi Ketjap until fragrant.
3. Combine ingredients
Add the cooked pork back to the pan and mix well to coat with the spice mix.
4. Add liquids
Pour in 250 ml of water and 3 tablespoons of sweet soy sauce (Kecap Manis). Stir well to combine.
5. Simmer
Reduce the heat and let the dish simmer until the pork is tender and the sauce has thickened to a rich, glossy consistency.
Serving Tip
Serve Babi Ketjap with steamed rice and complement it with sides like Sambal Goreng, Atjar, or Sajoer Lodeh. For a complete Indonesian feast, pair it with dishes like Rendang or Nasi Goreng.
