Sarirasa Boemboe Sate Manis: Sweet Indonesian Skewers
Ingredients
• 500 grams chicken, beef, or pork (cut into bite-sized pieces)
• 1 pack Sarirasa Boemboe Sate Manis
• 2 tablespoons sweet soy sauce (Kecap Manis)
• 2 tablespoons rice oil
• Skewers (soaked in water for 30 minutes, if wooden)
Instructions
1. Prepare the meat
• Cut the meat into bite-sized cubes or strips for easy skewering.
2. Marinate the meat
• In a bowl, mix Sarirasa Boemboe Sate Manis with 2 tablespoons of sweet soy sauce and 2 tablespoons of rice oil.
• Add the meat and mix well to coat. Cover and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes (or overnight for deeper flavor).
3. Skewer the meat
• Thread the marinated meat onto the skewers, ensuring an even distribution.
4. Cook the satay
• Grill: Preheat the grill to medium-high heat and cook the skewers for 10–15 minutes, turning occasionally, until the meat is cooked through and slightly charred.
• Pan-fry: Heat a grill pan or skillet and cook the skewers over medium heat, turning frequently.
5. Optional Glaze
• For extra flavor, brush the skewers with additional sweet soy sauce during the last minute of cooking.
Serving Tip
Serve Sate Manis with peanut sauce, sambal, or sweet soy sauce on the side. Pair it with steamed rice or Nasi Goreng, and complement with Atjar Tjampoer or Sambal Goreng for a complete Indonesian meal.
