Recipe for Sarirasa Boemboe Opor
Ingredients
• 500 grams chicken or beef
• 1 pack Sarirasa Boemboe Opor
• 2 tablespoons rice oil
• 200 ml Nutco coconut milk or 50 grams coconut cream (santen)
• 250 ml water
Instructions
1. Cook the protein
• Chicken: Fry the chicken pieces until golden brown.
• Beef: Sear the beef until browned. Remove from the pan and set aside.
2. Sauté the spice mix
Heat 2 tablespoons of rice oil in the same pan and sauté the Sarirasa Boemboe Opor until fragrant.
3. Combine ingredients
Add the cooked chicken or beef back to the pan and stir well to coat the meat evenly with the spice mix.
4. Add liquids
Gradually add 250 ml of water and 50 grams of coconut cream (santen) or 200 ml Nutco coconut milk. Stir to combine.
5. Simmer
Let the dish simmer on low heat until the meat is tender and the sauce has thickened to your desired consistency.
Serving Tip
Pair this creamy and aromatic Opor with steamed rice. For a complete Indonesian dining experience, combine it with Sajoer Lodeh, Bali, or Sambal Goreng using other Sarirasa, Kokki Djawa, or Koningsvogel spice mixes.
