Recipe for Sarirasa Boemboe Bali
Ingredients
• 500 grams of chicken, beef, or fish
• 1 pack Sarirasa Boemboe Bali
• 2 tablespoons rice oil
• 250 ml water
Vegetarian Option:
• Replace meat/fish with 8 hard-boiled eggs or 500 grams of diced tofu (tahoe) or tempeh.
Instructions
1. Cook the protein
• Chicken: Fry the chicken pieces until golden brown.
• Beef: Sear the beef and braise until partially cooked.
• Fish: Lightly fry the fish and set aside (add it later to avoid overcooking).
2. Sauté the spice mix
Heat 2 tablespoons of rice oil in a pan and sauté the Sarirasa Boemboe Bali until fragrant.
3. Combine ingredients
Add the chicken, beef, or fish to the pan with the sautéed spice mix and stir to coat evenly.
4. Add water
Gradually add 250 ml of water, pouring it in small amounts while stirring to create a smooth sauce.
5. Simmer
• For chicken or beef: Let the dish simmer until the meat is tender and the sauce has thickened.
• For fish: Add the fish towards the end of cooking to prevent it from falling apart.
6. Vegetarian Option
Add the boiled eggs, tofu, or tempeh to the spice mix and water. Cook until the flavors are fully absorbed.
Serving Tips
• Pair with Sajoer Lodeh, Opor, or Sambal Goreng using Sarirasa, Kokki Djawa, or Koningsvogel spice mixes.
• Complete the meal with steamed rice or add to a rijsttafel for a full Indonesian dining experience.
